Edelmarke German Shorthaired Pointers is a small kennel in Northern California. Our dogs do not live in kennels as we believe they should all be important members of the family and live primarily inside with their people as a way of life.

We breed very limitedly, and strive to produce only the best, by carefully planning each breeding & our goals are to always improve the next generation. We compete in AKC Conformation as well as Hunt Tests and other field venues. We believe a dog that is built correctly will be able to be a more efficient hunting dog. All of our dogs hunt wild pheasants, quail and waterfowl. It is very important to us to keep these hunting traits very strong in our lines.

All breeding stock is health tested for hip dypslasia, eyes, cone degeneration, elbows, thyroid and cardiac (OFA) prior to breeding. In a limited time, we have produced 3 AKC Champions,3 Field Titled dogs and several more close to finishing, although our primary focus is non-competitive hunting. We also support breed rescue & educating the public about this wonderful breed.
