Locknload Kennel is a family owned and operated pointing dog kennel located in Northern Colorado. We strive to match dogs with superior bird finding ability to enhance upland hunting. We breed, raise, hunt, trial, and train competive bloodlines of German Shorthaired Pointers and English Setters. We prefer the smaller medium size hunting dogs with more white. This allows for dogs that take the heat better without needing high maintenance to hunt all day/week. We compete in National Shoot to Retrieve Field Trials (NSTRA) to ensure that we are selecting and keeping the best bloodlines available. NSTRA is a walking/shooting trial that closely resembles actual hunting. Criteria is based on finds, retrieves, backing, ground coverage and obedience. This helps us to select and promote competive dogs with superior bird finding ability and style. 18 points are needed for each Championship of which 9 points must be First Place Points.
