At Tallgrass Gordon Setters we are striving to produce “Classy” Gordon Setters you would be proud to own. A this time we produce one litter of puppies a year. Our objective is to produce good looking, biddable, and intense companion / gundogs. These are naturally close (out to 75 yards in thick cover) to medium range (up 350 yards in thin cover) working lines of setters that have traditionally been hunted on prairie grouse, ruffed grouse and woodcock. Previous litters have also performed well on pheasants. We test our dogs in AKC Hunt Tests, AKC Field Trials, and have played a little in NSTRA and NAVDHA. We also ensure we are breeding healthy and happy dogs by having our dogs tested for genetic problems. Bettering the breed is ultimate our goal.
