John has drive, desire and passion for bird dogs and
his breeding program. His goal is to produce solid gun dogs for the serious
hunter or competitor. He always strives to cross bloodlines that he feels
strong about and that he knows will better the breed. He use lines that
are known for easy handling, calmness, brains, bird sense, style and beauty.
2008 News - Scooby our (English Setter)
just became a Runner up national champion at the 2nd annual NSTRA/QUAIL
FOREVER national trial that was held in Elberton, Georgia the week of
Jan 9th-12th there were 156 dogs from all over the country in this trial
and 2 Michigan dogs were in the final run Scott Townsend of Crosswind
Kennels with his German Shorthair Fritz won the national championship
for the 2nd year in a row and Eric Griffiths of Classic Pointe Kennels
was the 1st runner up, these two rode down to Georgia together and beat
out the other 154 dogs to claim the 1st and runner up titles, this is
quite a accomplishment with the caliber of dogs that were in this trial.

Boss" from Texas, ( Mary Tatums dog) and the female "Maggie"
is a lean mac bred with Cotton Pickin Cropper, and Gene Kirby's breeding
stock from North Carolina, (Shady
Oaks Kennel) she is a yellow, they are both high
powered dogs with a ton of drive, the female and male are both
loaded top and bottom with FC.AFC,NFC,NAFC
