At White Rock Kennels we have been breeding
and training beagles for 12 years, 5 years ago we found a blood line of
beagles that fit the style of dog we like to hunt, when we acquired
Dee. Dee is the hardest hunting beagle I have
ever owned and she is the foundation of our kennel. This blood line comes
from a man named Don Bramlett. The Bramlett bloodline produces strong
hard hunting dogs that can go all day in the field or trial events. They
are not afraid of the brush and do not lack hunt. Primarily the Bramlett
beagle will be Black & Tan in color. They are AKC registered beagles
and are not crossed with any other breed. Yes it is not common to see
beagles in this color variety, but beagles are hounds and can come in
any hound color variation. We prefer the solid Black and Tan color on
our beagles.
Last spring White Rock Kennels began running field trials
with our beagles and we are hooked. We knew very little about trial events,
but felt we were feeding some decent hounds. In just a few months we were
able to title our first ARHA Progressive Pack field Champion. PP RCH Eagleton's
Murl Black Tuxedo. Tuxedo is a cousin to my female Dee
and it didn't take long for him to make some noise in the trials. His
first trial Tuxedo placed 9th out of 41 dogs, followed
up with 3 - 2nd place finishes in a row, then a 10th, and finally a win
to qualify for Champ. I will be running Tuxedo in the
Champion class this year and a son from Tuxedo and Dee
in the open class, Whiterocks Dura"Max".
Competing in field trials has created a way to keep our beagles active
year around, while the hunting season's are closed.
