| Oct
22 09 - A few salmon were caught inside the harbor
when trolling body baits or casting from shore. Lake trout are in
close to shore for spawning however the season to take them is closed. |

| Oct 1 09
- High winds have hampered fishing and it will take a good
two days or so after the winds stop before the fish start to bite
again. Try 80 to 130 feet of water for salmon and steelhead. Good
lures have been spoons, spin doctors with flies or squids, J-Plugs
or body baits. Don't forget Lake trout season closes on September
30th. |

Sept 24 09
- Salmon are being taken out in the 90 to 140 foot of water.
Try Spin Doctors, action flies and magnum spoons 125 to 225 feet back.
Good colors were black with glow, gold, green or blue. In the early
morning, try trolling body baits or J-Plugs in the channel. Steelhead
action continues to get better. Use bright pink, yellow and orange
lures 150 feet behind the offshore boards, downriggers or dipsey's.
Target the top 35 to 50 feet and try trolling faster than usual. Lake
trout action is still good straight out and north in waters 80 to
130 feet deep. For walleye, head straight out and north of the harbor
with crawler harnesses, Hot-n-Tots or medium spoons. Best colors were
copper, orange, green, and yellow, straight or with small blades in
front. Perch fishing is slow but do try 30 to 60 feet of water down
near the cemetery, Wagner Park, and near the lighthouse.

Sept 17 09
- Some nice salmon were taken in 160 to 175 feet of water.
Use Spin Doctors, action fly's and magnum spoons off downriggers or
dipsy divers 125 to 225 feet back. Lake trout fishing is still good
straight out and north of the harbor. Fish 80 to 100 feet in the morning
and move out to waters at least 130 feet deep with spoons or dodgers.
Steelhead action continues to get better for those trolling color
lines such as pink, yellow and orange. Fish the top 50 to 60 feet
of water and if the bite is slow, try speeding up. Walleye action
is fair to good straight out and north or the harbor when using a
crawler harness, Hot-n-Tots or medium spoons. Start trolling in 40
to 50 feet of water then head out to 60 to 100 feet. Perch fishing
is slow.

- Boaters are trolling in 100 to 125 feet of water for chinook
and steelhead however more lake trout have been caught. |

Sept 3 09
- Lake trout fishing is still good straight out and north of
the harbor in 80 to 100 feet of water in the morning, then moving
out to 105 to 130 feet of water. Fish close to the bottom with green
dodgers. For steelhead, fish the top 50 to 60 feet with lures in bright
colors like pink, yellow, and orange about 150 feet back of the offshore
boards, downriggers or dipseys. If the bite is slow, try speeding
up. For salmon, try closer to shore in the morning with plugs or body
baits 25 to 40 feet back and adjust for deeper waters. Good colors
were black with glow, gold, green or blue. Walleye were scattered
but anglers may still want to try straight out or north of the harbor
with crawler harnesses and Hot-n-Tots. Try 25 to 30 feet of water
in the early morning.

| Aug 27 09
- Lake trout fishing continues to be good,
with some nice ones being taken straight out and North of the harbor.
Also Steelhead action is starting to pick up with some nice ones being
taken in 60 foot of water. Find those color lines and you should do
good, continue to troll those bright color pinks, yellows, and orange
lures for best results back 150 feet off the Offshore Boards or dipseys. |

Aug 19 09
- Boaters trolling in 100 to 130 feet of water are getting
lake trout near the bottom and steelhead near the surface. A few chinook
salmon were also caught and walleye were hitting in 25 to 45 feet
of water.

- Walleye fishing jas picked up north of the harbor.
Start in 25 feet of water and head deeper as the sun comes up. Fish
were caught on long lines about 50 feet down in waters 130 feet deep.
Good colors were copper, orange, green, yellow or blueberry muffin,
some with small blades. Lake trout can be found in waters 80 to 150
feet deep straight out and north of the harbor. Try silver dodgers
with green body baits close to bottom. Steelhead were hitting spoons
150 feet back in waters 125 to 150 feet deep. Good colors were bright
pink and orange. |

- Walleye were caught on crawler harnesses or Hot-n-Tots in
40 feet of water. Smallmouth bass were taken off the pier |

- Lake trout are being taken in 90 to 140 feet of water straight
out and north of the harbor. Try spoons or dodgers with green and
white spin and glo's close to the bottom. A few salmon were also caught.
Steelhead action was fair when using color lines in 160 feet of water
with bright pink and orange lures 150 feet back from the offshore
boards. Walleye fishing is good north of the harbor when using crawler
harnesses or Hot-n-Tots in 20 to 40 feet of water. Hot colors were
copper, orange, green or yellow with small blades in front. |

- Walleye fishing is fair north of the harbor in 20 to 60 feet
of water. Good colors were copper, orange, green or yellow with small
blades. Lake trout were caught in 75 to 160 feet of water straight
out and north of the harbor. Salmon fishing was slow but some were
mixed in with the lake trout. For perch, try 30 to 60 feet of water
or south of the cemetery. |

Jul 2 09
- Perch are in the harbor and are overall small in size at.
There is a few bigger fish in the mix and the best bait is worms.
Good steelhead action is being reported on the big lake in 120 feet
of water. Bright colors work best when trolling spoons about 100 feet
behind the boards. Lake trout have been caught just off the bottom
in 50 to 65 feet of water straight out and north of the harbor. Try
spoons or dodgers with Spin Glo's.

Jun 25 09
- Steelhead action is good in waters up to 110 feet deep. Try
trolling bright colored spoons about 100 feet behind the offshore
boards. Some nice lake trout were caught in 80 to 110 feet of water
using spoons or Dodgers with spin and glows fishing close to the bottom.
Try gold, green camo, and orange. Salmon fishing is slow but some
were caught. For walleye, try casting spoons and body baits or trolling
Hot-n-Tots or crawler harnesses in 20 to 50 feet of water.

Jun 18 09
- For Kings and coho, try 30 to 90 feet of water straight out
or north of the harbor trolling spoons off downriggers and planer
boards. Good colors were silver, green, blue, orange and yellow. Steelhead
are hitting on bright colored spoons or body baits in 70 to 110 feet
of water. Lake trout could be found in the lower half of waters 60
to 100 feet deep. Good colors were white with pink dots, green camo,
orange or green. Walleye were caught in the evening when casting body
baits off the north wall or trolling crawler harnesses, small spoons
or Hot-n-Tots. Perch anglers will want to try along the channel inside
the harbor, near the lighthouse or the cemetery in 25 to 40 feet of
water.

- Coho and lake trout have been
caught in 40 to 90 feet of water. Pier anglers caught walleye in the
early morning or late evening. Smallmouth bass can be found in the
harbor. |

May 28 09
- A few chinook and coho were caught in 20 to 60 feet of water
straight out and north of the harbor first thing in the morning and
later in the evening. Best results are coming with Spin Doctors and
green action flies, small and medium body baits or spoons. Good colors
were green, silver, blue, and copper, black with white or glow. Lake
trout were taken inside the harbor and off the north wall by the marina.
Walleye were hitting inside the harbor when trolling a crawler harness,
small spoons or Hot-n-Tots. Good bass fishing inside the harbor and
the marina.

May 20 09
- Fishing in 40-feet of water has produced good numbers of
Coho, lake trout, steelhead and a few perch using regular size spoons.
Good colors were blue, silver or green glow.

May 14 09
- Kings and coho are being caught on spoons or body baits in
25 to 40 feet of water. Good colors are glow green and chartreuse
or green camo. Try two or three color lead lines when fishing the
top 20 to 30 feet of water. Steelhead were taken on orange and chartreuse
spoons or body baits. Try long lines 50 to 100 feet back. Lake trout
were 5 to 10 feet off the bottom in 30 to 50 feet of water. Try small
spoons and dodgers with green and orange spin glows.

- Boaters are stating to catch
kings and coho trolling spoons or body baits. |

Oct
9 08 - Fishing for salmon and perch is good on the
Lake and in the Harbor. Salmon are hitting on spawn bags and Cleo’s,
while perch are biting on minnows and crawlers. Still waiting for
the fall walleye bite.

2 08 - Fishing is good for salmon thanks to cooler
temperatures and rain helping to bring them in. Colored spoons are
working well. Perch are biting on minnows.

Sept 25 08
- Perch fishing is good inside the Harbor with minnows.
Salmon are moving towards the shallow waters and jumping like crazy
in 35-40 feet. Body baits and spoons are working best. Walleye are
biting on night crawlers and crawler harnesses in 55-feet of water.
Spoons are working well on steelhead in 65-feet of water.

Sept 18 08
- Limits of lake trout are still being reported. Pier
anglers are starting to try for salmon however the fish have not come
in yet.

- A few salmon near the shore by
small boat, and near the break walls. Some good walleye and perch
fishing is taking place in 45-50 feet of water. Shiners are the bait
of choice.

- Lake trout are being caught in waters 100 to 130
feet deep. Trolling in shallower waters 50 to 60 feet deep in the
early morning have taken a mix of walleye and steelhead. |

Aug 28 08
- Decent perch catches on shiners.
Walleye are being caught further out in deeper waters, and salmon
action is picking up.

- Salmon activity is picking up especially south of
the wall when fishing down 20-30 feet.

- Good activity for walleye, steelhead and lake trout
is being reported in front of the beach area on orange and pink lures. |

Aug 7 08
- Very good perch fishing is being reported, particularly
in 15-feet of water and when fishing the weed beds with minnows. Fair
action is taking place for kings and lakers in waters up to 100-feet
and decent action for walleye on crawler harnesses and jigs.

- Walleye fishing is good by the harbor,
hitting on crawler harnesses up to 55 feet below the surface, in water
that is up to 65 feet deep. The lake trout and king salmon fishing
is fair straight out from the harbor, in water 80 to 110 feet deep.
The perch fishing is improving daily try between Wagner Park and Deckerville
Rd. The perch are hitting on minnows. |

- Perch activity is great in 24-30
feet of water and using minnows. Walleye action is good in 55-feet
of water with night crawlers and the lake trout can be caught in 110-feet
of water on spoons or flies |

- King Salmon, steelhead and lake trout fishing is
slow but some fish have been caught in water 60 to 120 feet of water.
Standard size lures are working best. |

- Salmon and trout
are hitting in 80 to 100 feet of water with, walleye being caught
off the north wall at night.

- Walleye fishing remains good particularly at night
and using crawler harnesses. Trolling has produced lake trout, kings,
coho and steelhead in 80 to 100 feet of water. With pink salmon are
starting to show up.

along with the occasional king, coho, or pink salmon on spoons in
60 to 100 feet of water.

- King and Coho
fishing is really good when using Pro-King spoons. Steelhead and trout
continue to be active in waters 15 feet below the surface on a variety
of colored spoons. anglers are coming up with good numbers of perch
and walleye.

- Steelhead fishing
is reported very good The fish can be found 10 to 15 down, over water
about 50 feet deep maily on spoons, orange and pink are the hot colors.
Lake trout fishing is also very good.

- Salmon and lake trout are being taken on orange
and pink spoons straight out and south fishing in shallow waters for
best results. |

- Fishing remains good with the fish being caught
25 feet down over 30 to 45 feet of water. The coho catch is very good
this year. |

King and coho fishing is good in water around 18 feet deep, try from
the North Gap south to the cemetery. Using purple and black or silver
and pink smaller spoons. |

May-09-08 -
Its hot for Coho and Kings. Excellent catches taking place in just
17 feet of water. All the way down to Port Sanilac. Good colors have
been blue, gray and green. Settings lines way behind the boat. Lake
trout are hitting on small spoons off downriggers. |

May-01-08 -
Some decent perch in front of Rock Paw Cemetery, browns in 14-20 feet
of water just south of the harbor. Also some coho, walleye and a few
steelhead are being taken using bombers or small spoons off planer
boards and downriggers in 15 to 30 feet of water.

- Salmon fishing is starting to improve along the
breakwall in the harbor and out in the lake. Weather has been a problem
with getting out.

A few salmon are showing up, fish off the pier by casting spawn or
small spoons. Good fishing for browns, lake trout and salmon on the
lake, in 40 feet of water. Perch fishing is only fair in front of
the harbor. |

G Light numbers of salmon are showing up here as well. Pier anglers
are casting spawn or small spoonsood Waters have been to rough for
most boats. Pier anglers have caught pike, walleye and smallmouth
bass when fishing in the early morning.

Rough water kept the boats off the lake earlier in the week, however
a few walleye have been caught, in the harbor . The salmon and steelhead
fishing is fair in water 65 to 85 feet deep, when the weather allows

flys combos or spin and glows and magnum spoons off the bottom. Good
colors are green and white. A few kings and steelhead, in water 45
to 90 feet deep try magnum black and silver screwballs. The perch
fishing is getting better, try in water 30 to 45 feet deep using shiners,
south and straight out. |

Boaters are catching perch inside the harbor in front of the lighthouse,
in 25 feet of water. Lake trout fishing is good in water up to 110
feet deep.

Some perch are being taken inside the harbor and out by the lighthouse.
A few walleye were also caught inside the harbor after dark. The lake
trout fishing is good in water 80 to 110 feet deep. A few salmon and
steelhead are also being taken. A few walleyes are being taken when
trolling at nigh outside of the harbor. |
