Nov-18th -2010 - Whitefish are schooling along the breakwall. Try ice fishing jigs with small minnows or other small lures. Best fishing is dusk and dawn.

Nov-11th -2010 - Fishing from the pier is still taking an occasional steelhead or brown trout. Perch fishing has been good off the state dock. With all the minnows showing up, whitefish action should be good, especially for those fishing off the pier at first light and dusk.

Oct -27th -2010 - Pier anglers were sorting through lots and lots of little perch to get 8 to 10 keepers. There are also a few steelheads and browns around the harbor. Not much boat fishing activity due to wind and the fact that most people have laid up their boats for the winter, but a couple of die-hard trollers took a nice steelhead and a brown from 15 to 20 feet of water out near the tip of Tawas Point on Rapalas. Emerald shiners are just thick in the harbor and in most of the bay right now.
At the Singing Bridge: A few smaller steelheads taken in the surf on spawn over the weekend.

Oct -24th -2010 - Pier anglers are getting a lot of perch but a lot of sorting is necessary. Minnows are thick in the harbor, and are attracting perch and other predators which feed on them. A few pike, brown trout and smallmouth bass are also being taken. Boat anglers aren’t doing much. A few Chinooks have been taken from the Tawas River .

At the Singing Bridge: A few Chinooks are being taken in the surf, and some small steelheads (2 lb.) are being taken out of the East Branch Au Gres River.

Tawas River - There were some salmon running the river over the weekend, and generally were bigger fish.

Sept -14th -2010 - Pier action was slow, with a few small perch being caught. Some salmon was seen porposing. A few walleye were being taken on the outside wall in early mornings and evenings. Trollers were not giving much effort due to wind. A few fish being taken at Buoy 2 (35-50’).
